Hi,

Okay, this is a weird one. I'm being offered the use of two rooms in a house used by a local non-profit. I've been looking for a location for a recording studio for our radio/web broadcast station. The price is right, but the two rooms are very strange. I don't know if it would be worth it to take them up on it. Both rooms are entirely made of plank wood. The house is on a quiet side street.

Room A dimensions consists of two parts: Main part of room: Tall 7'8", Wide 9'8", Long 17'. Room B juts out into it at one end, tapering the dimensions of Wide 5'7.5" and Long 8'8.5" to the room. There are two windows which are painted shut.

Room B dimensions: Tall 10'.5", Wide 8'1", Long 12'2". There is one window in this room, also painted shut. The doorway between these two rooms has no door presently.

What the heck can I do with this? Anything?

Thanks for any help,

Andrew

apply auralex, try some bass traps, put in two doors (one opening out, one opening in for an air trap), all the usual stuff you'll find discussed on here.

Sounds like decent space to me. I'm in a slanted ceiling garage loft and surviving, and have had MUCH worse space than what you found :)

Just have to treat it a bit.

Do the rooms sound bad? Those dimensions aren't too troublesome and that wood might add some nice ambience.
