well it's been a coupla months since i've recorded. when i try now i get a "error opening waveoutput device". so i do the full-duplex test and it's ok.

then, when i go into recording settings i get a "there is a problem with your sound hardware. you mave have to install additional mixer software in the add/remove of control panel".

dunno. my 24/96 audiophile card works on everything else. something happened in the last 2 months. any clues?jw

I don't know if this is acurate, but it's what I would try:

Reinstall soundcard drivers and reboot. If the 24/96 has it's own
"external mixer", check it's settings. I wouls then go to multimedia in control panel and ensure that the 24/96 is set up
as playback and recording device. Then go to directx and test it
there.

If it still didn't work I'd repeat all steps but also reinstall Ntrack.

Good luck.

thanks again. yea i re-loaded n-track and the delta drivers.same thing. i checked the windows mixer and i can't get any settings to show in recording.playback is fine.

now,how do i re-load this where i can get the recording program back? do i re-load win2k? i haven't had to re-load win2k at all for anything. can i just reload the windows recorder?

i d-loaded the latest version(ver3.o5) and i actually recorded a few test 123's. then i got the error back,"error opening soundcard". i re-loaded the service pack 2.

does anyone know if re-loading win2k is gonna help me? and will that change a lot of my settings? thx,jw

defragged and d-loaded the latest via drivers for my board. btw,the windows recorder works good--.

now-----,i'm still having a problem with the input device. it just refuse's to see my 2496 audiophile card in N-Track. and like i said, everything else works fine.jw

well after upgrading a coupla months ago and paying the price($),i'm just about to give up on n-track. i've had more than one problem keeping this software"useable".what other multitrack software should i go to? jw:mad:

"Error opening wave input device.Make sure that the sampling frequency And the recording format set in the dialog box that appears clicking on the Setting Button on the recording vumeter are supported by the soundcard".

this is the exact--word for confusing word-- i get. i've done all i can understand.jw

I too started having trouble with N-Track. Everything from the same issue you are having, to it suddenly being unable to record in 24 bit, when it had been doing it all along, to asking for registration when I kept plugging in the #'s Flavio had given me.

I ended up with Sonar XL...and I am having a great time! It's just a better program (Sorry ex-fellow ntrack users!). It really does everything I want to do, and it's pretty stable on my PC.

amen, thats the concensious i'm getting. if i don't use it for a month or 2, i still want it to work after i've paid for it---after a month or 2.jw

Every problem I've ever had with Ntrack ended up being the fault of my Audiophile soundcard in the end. Never Ntrack. That's just my experience, tho.

yea it took 2 weeks to get my audiophile 2496 card to work right.ask gidge. maybe it's that.dunno, don't have any hair left to pull out.
