I'm a retarded newb and I need help and I know this has been asked before 10 billion times but please for the love of god, bear with me.

What angle should my monitors be at?
Based on the length of my room, what percentage of that should my monitoring position be in?
Are there any formulas or anything I could use to determine where my acoustic treatment should be?
What height should my monitors be at?

Monitors should ideally be set up in an equilateral triangle, with your head in the "sweet spot" at the top of the triangle. They should also ideally be at about the same height as your ears when you are in your listening position.

I don't know if there is a formula for placement in relation to the wall behind your speakers, but a good rule of thumb is to have two-to-three feet of space behind your speakers.

For treatment check out the following link under "studio design." I built my room treatments based on John's designs.

The Recording Manual

Technically, you should be 1/3 of the way into the long part of the room.

"Secondary" reflection points are a problem only if the room is very narrow. When in doubt, use a mirror to find those places and add absorbers.

Ok, good cause I was using a mirror to try to find secondary reflection points but I couldn't see any reflections of my speakers other than the two spots on either side of me and the spot above me... I figured I was doing something wrong though :o

Thanks ethan.

FTR, I'm gonna post up some pics later to see if anyone has any added info or any input they'd like to throw in.
