Hello ..

Hi. My name's Maymay and I'm new to this site. I just need SUPER DUPER help! As most people who are newbies to home-studios; I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I GOT MYSELF INTO.

Well, I thought it was simple, but I was wrong. Today, I just purchased a Sterling Audio ST55 Condenser Mic, a pop filter, and shockmount. I didn't realize I needed other things. FAIL. =[

Anyhow, I was browsing online for a few things and I wasn't sure what I needed in order to get this going. (I also just bought a new Sony Vaio laptop.)

Should I get a preamp? Mixer? Separate phantom power supply? Audio Interface? What XLR jacks/cables should I get? How do I connect the preamp/mixer/audio interface to the laptop?

So far so good MM. What are you going to record just vocals?
You'll also need a recording program google up and down load Reaper.
