I just acquired a TAscam m520 20X8 console, but it is missing the power supply & cable.

Can anyone help me locate one? Thank You.

I think you are the third or forth unfortunate soul to buy one of these mixers w/o a PS unit and connecting cable??!!

Somewhere on this planet sits a PS520 and a dummy who thinks its a power amp and wonders why it has such funky speaker connectors! :o

I'll wish you good luck but don't expect any.

Cheers! :)

Not very encouraging, but thanks for the reply anyway. Actually, the console was given to me, so, no loss anyway.
Regards, David.

Some months ago I was responding on the same mixer. In this case the mixer was complete with the powersupply but without the powercable.
As you all know this is a strange cable with strange connectors.

I have phoned with the headoffice of Tascam in the Netherlands, Belgium and even in Germany. They found some kind of order number but the cable cannot be ordered anymore.
The office in the Netherlands offered to make a look-a-like cable with new connectors but... the price would be something arround 350 or more dollars..

This was not a option because the seller wants something arround 750 dollars for the mixer..

So... good luck !

Erik

You guys know,...

I acquired a supposedly "perfectly working" M520 about a year ago, but when it arrived, it was less 21 2P jumper plugs, AND the power-umbilical cord. (It was already less the wood side panels, but that was clear up front, by the description). Just the mixer board & power supply, but no cable.

Needless to say, it didn't work perfectly. It didn't work at all. Tascam does not supply this cable any more, and any cable I'd consider to resurrect the M520 would be a DIY job. Not only that, but the particular connectors used were not common, and can't be found today. I've contemplated replacing the existing connectors on the PS520 and M520 to something like a standard DB-25, and then use a standard DB-25 cable for connection. That's all tentative, TBD.

If it weren't for successfully charging back this item against Visa and Paypal, I'd have been out $790. As it sits today, the M520 & PS520 is useless and is (boxed) taking up space in my garage, but didn't cost me a dime.

I've considered selling it, as is, but I won't sell the board & supply separately. I've also considered sourcing another M520,... in working condition,... as well as the obvious thing: making a power-umbilical cable, DIY.
