I need a few more.

For one at least, what if you liked the light feel, and tone of the akg240's open style, but needed more isolation? -tracking others, but live' in the room with me is the issue.

I'm familiar with Sony 7506's and Sen 280 too but not particularly keen on either of them.

Some of the 240's and Sonys have really hung in there but just getting worn out. Hopefully they can be refurbished.
 
I have some of the 280s and really like them. I use them when tracking drums , and vocals. as I said in another post, the singer I play with likes the click really loud and with the old phones I was using sometimes the click would bleed into the mic. :D
