Ok..I know you get what you pay for, but does anyone have any recommendations on a brand and model headphone that is both good and affordable (good meaning decent). I need to buy several pair for a project, and I dont want to fork out $100.00+ a pair at this point.

Has anyone tried and had any luck with a cheaper brand. I have 2 good pair of Sony's, that I use, but these cheaper ones will be for the other musicians to use (who dont have their own pair) and abuse.

Better yet, does anyone have any like described above they want to sell??

Thanks and Peace

Harvey Gerst's "More Me's" are very cheap and have a good rep if they're just for tracking:

I'll probably buy a couple of sets when I need to stock up as they now have a european distributor.

I have the Vic Firth headphones, I bought them with my v-drums and I"m really pleased with them. They're also very snug without being skull crushing. They were about 75$cdn at a large local music store. Maybe check those out.

yeah, the audio technica m40fs's are great. the m30's are good too.

:D Yo NEWT--:]

Check out the VERY FRUGAL CANS on sale at cyberguys.com.

I just got a catalog from them and if you want cans at the smiling price, check them out.

I can't vouch for their quality as I've not bought any from them; however, I did pick up on a set of cans with volume knobs on each ear--might be something useful?

Happy 4th of July and August also!

I would avoid buying any inexpensive phones that have built-in volume controls. They burn out way too easy in a studio environment.

take a look at the Yamaha RH5MA. good all around headphones, + the Vic firth someone else had metioned are good for isolating both noise from outside and noise from the cans into the mic, both are around $50-60

Fostex are worth trying out.

They are built well, not too expensive and sound good.

AKG are OK but can be expensive, mine haven't lasted very long.
