Just don't feed the bear!

Sorry, dude, I was just trying to find you a store that might ship the Extreme Isolations to Ireland. You could always contact Harvey Gerst and see how much it would cost him to ship you a pair of his MoreMe phones. They are only $30 US, and the shipping can't be that outrageous from Texas, right?

oh sorry scrubs, Come to think of it i actually saw them for sale in sound on sound so i should be able to find them in england, thanks guys.

I got some of the Extreme Isolation headphones and they are OK. I got them to track drums and also to help in setting up the mic on my guitar cab so I can hear the sweet spot. But....my drummer prefers his in-ear headphones along with some regular cheapy headphones over them for extra isolation. This works a little better and is waaay more comfortable. For setting mic placement, they don't really sound good enough to me to find the best spot.
However, they do look fantastically rediculous! :D Looks kind of like that novelty log-through-the-head gag.

Just to throw a spanner into the works - I haven't used the Extreme thingies, but the best isolation I've found by a COUNTRY MILE are the Shure E2C earbuds. If you want to spend more, get the E5s, just skip the E3s for definite.

These are the in-ear things you shove right down your canals - you find yourself using a tenth of the volume on your headphone amp because they block so much else out. Awesome - no bleed whatsoever. I have a DJ friend who is being sponsored by Shure now because he raved about them so much. For 'extreme' isolation, stick a pair of regular headphones over the top (not plugged in, just for extra padding) and I guarantee you'll be deaf as a mute, or whatever that saying is.

When you set up business with a dealer, it pays to know that dealer's website ;)

I figured that if I just got you to his website, you'd figure out the rest for yourself. :)

I was joining the dots up for those who hadn't figured it out yet! :) Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!

Wasn't "Taunto" the Lone Ranger's sidekick, before Monty Python got a hold of him?

You know, I think you may have just stumped me there. I guess I'm showing my age (or you're showing yours - meow!).

What I do know is that I want a shrubbery.

I've got some - they're a good, pleasant-sounding and comfortable set. I had two beefs, one is important and the other is not:

1. Isolation isn't brilliant - no quiet vocals or anything with a loud click track. Not such a huge worry cos they're so cheap!
2. Very, very fragile wire. Far too thin. They come with a 2 year warranty, but that warranty does not cover the lead ... so be nice to them!

Which headphones are you talking about?

HD202s! In fact, I started a thread at the time saying I liked them ... and it kinda wore off as the day went on. I'll track it down - it's a good Harvey thread.

OK - thanks.

I think it was your earlier thread that piqued my interest in the HD-202's in the first place. For $17.80 a set (5 sets for $89), they work really well for tracking cans.

We haven't had any cable casualties, and FWIW, the cable diameter is about the same as my AKG-270M's. I like the cable length on the HD-202's too... nice and long. Another thing I like about them is they stay put on your mellon... my damn 270Ms fall off if you move around, and the 270Ms are REALLY fragile too... they won't survive a 2-3 foot drop onto a hard floor without some type of damage (at least mine didn't when they fell off a floor tom). They should send a bottle of glue with each set of 250M's... ;)

That's cool mate. I use my HD202s all the time for various stuff, and they're fine. I've not had any trouble with the cable, but I would be concerned about it getting trampled on in a commercial studio. Maybe it's been upgraded or different for the USA version? Cos Christiaan was having the same worries as me about it, and we're both Europe-dwellers.

I like them, and they are a bargain.
