hey guys...
heres my question , i had a pair of cheapie headphones that
broke recently that we've been using to track the vocals.

Im looking to spend between 100 and 200 bucks ...
i belive from reading around they should be closed so they dont
leak sound into the mic , i was just wondering if you guys had any
suggestions...

thanks alot

Yo GBAV:

Cans? You say CANS? Man, I love cans. I have all kinds. Ash cans, beer cans, Toucans, but the cans I like the best are Beyer cans. I have Sony cans and AKG cans, and some other set of cans but the Beyer model 250 cans work quite well. A bit tight fit when new but they loosen up with use.

Whatever you buy, don't buy Koss cans. Low end.

:D :D :p :p

I wouldn't recommend the AKG 240's - great headphones, but they are not sealed.

AKG K-270's are sealed and do a pretty good job for tracking vocals. I think they are around $200.

I second that opinion ... AKG 270S are great for tracking vocals. Great for tracking drums too ... allows you to hear what's coming off the board really well while playing.

I have a pair of sony MDR 600 or 6000 or some shit like that. I love them but when I tracked vocal with a condenser mic the mic picked up my phone mix. I didn't have it blasting either. Now I track with a minimal phone mix, but is there a good phone that deals with this problem?

hey wow thanks for all the replys guys , your info has been incredibly useful so far...

maybe someday ill be able to give out advice but i dont see
that happening anytime soon hehe
