hey i have a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 interface, which i know has two headphone outs on it, but i am looking to get a headphone amp to give me 4 outs, not bothered about 4 mixes tho....i have been looking at a Behringer HA4700 Powerplay Pro-XL amp, is it possable to do what im looking for with this?

what would i need to do so, and how would i do it all?

im a bit new to this gear set up....thanks in advance :)

I believe that will give you four mixes if that's what you want.

Here's one that will give you a single stereo mix with 4 headphone outputs which is I think is more of what your looking for.

PreSonus

if i can get 4 mixes out of it then great im more looking for a rack mounted one as ive got one space left in my rack and was going to fill it with the headphone amp

In that case I'd go for the one that you suggested earlier.

The HA4700 has one main stereo input that is accessible by all four outputs. Each output also has an aux input that can be mixed with the main mix or replace it entirely. It will also allow you to split the stereo mix into two mono mixes to any of the outputs. Each output has its own bass and treble controls.

I've had one for several years and its worked fine for me.

BTW: you actually get EIGHT outs. There are 4 more on the back that mirror the front outputs.

There are four output channels. They each have three output jacks (one front, two back) for a total of 12 headphone jacks.

cool cheers for the info guys :)

how would i connect into the amp from the interface tho? is it just a balanced cable out of the heaphone socket on the front of the interface or waht?

Ya or you can do a separate mix from on of your extra outs.

The headphone output isn't balanced, but it uses the same connector.

What I would do is run outputs 3/4 (or whatever works) balanced to the main inputs of the HA4700 (TRS-XLRM x2), and then run a pair of TRS cables from the two headphone outs to the front panel aux inputs. The main input would be the main stereo mix available to all the outputs while the two headphone sends could be a pair of alternate stereo mixes or a couple of "more me" sends. You can patch them on the front panel to whichever channels need them.

The HA4700 has a pair of XLR pass throughs, so you can jump the main mix to a second unit easily.

The HA4700 is great!. Very usefull and easy to setup.
