Tomorrow it is, Mr. Head. I admit, you started this on a wonderful note with your stunning technique, great job. HOWEVER, I DO believe the bar has been raised by a certain modest violin geek from Ohio. :D
Edit, I didnt see your previous post tim, but:
Tim, do you play electric? I bet you dont, all the good classical cats I know like you dont. Same with classical violinists, nobody has the interest. I bought mine to play in TSO but I rarely play it these days, its like a toy compared to my megabucks fiddle.

TO ALL OF YOU - I'm not the judge of this thing, but when I listen to all of these back to back in a playlist, it's obvious to me most of you don't know shred from shinola..

I'll be blunt... there is some moments of fine playing here and there...but NOT thruout the entire piece.

IN ADDITION, the SOUND and TONE of these pieces have ALL sucked so far. You can have technique, but if you tone belongs in a cardboard box, that's how I will package your overall rating.

Go back and listen to Steve Vai... note the tone (you can keep the facial expressions if you want!)... PLUS the playing. He was trying to hand the little Machio kid his head.

Sabbath understands... too bad he can't put up a "real clip" lol!!

I WILL have to put up a better clip it appears and show you how it is done.

hey mix, do you have the Steve Vai cd 'fire garden'? if not maybe I can send you a tune in the mail.. there's one that I pretty much got the idea for the sound I used.. track 6.. is similar to what I used.. also some Vernon Reid.. you might be surprised how similar it is..

so I'm thinking your statement of 'all sucked' is relative at best, but your statement of sabbath understands is dead on! :D :D

honestly, the bar is really pretty low right now. I thought this might ooze some people out of the woodwork, but this IS the "bedroom" recording forum!!

There is a guy that has posted in the past...Scott Jones http://www.scottjonesmusic.com ... great technique...probably some of the best guitar stuff posted. But unfortunately, his tone kinda sucked too. If he would master that, he'd surpass his "A level local" level, and hit the nationals in a big way.

IT's the whole package people... and I am not talking tight pants either... To bad for True-ert, I suppose!! lol~ :eek: :D

I totally hear what you're saying, but I bet I could post any number of clips from Vai,Reid,Satriani,Dimebag, Zakk etc.. and you'd probably say the sound was horrible.. if I posted it in the clinic people would hate the sound of some Vai leads on record.. they'd say Dimebag used too much distortion etc etc

nice.. it sounds like you watched the video! :D I know this isn't about mixing but this clip is clipping quite a bit.. maybe do a fast swap with a non clipping clip clippy..
