HD24 as front-end?

Hello, I have a Digi 001 and am considering getting and Alesis HD24 as a portable front end for my system. I have a question for users of the HD24, how would you rate the converters to the others out there? i.e. 001, tdm, mdr24, tascam2424, radar, apogee, etc.

As good or better than the other HD recorders out there like the Mackies and Tascam, not as good as Radar's with Apogee at the top of the pile of what you mentioned. Put a Lucid GenX6 on the HD24 and it takes the converters up a couple of notchs. I track to an HD24 and also straight to the computer sometimes through it to a MOTU 2408 mkII, using it like a 24 channel sound card. I couldn't be happier.
