Hey all,

I tried searching for the info that I'm looking for but just ended up being derailed by another thread that caught my eye. In the interest of that not happening again, I'll just ask:

I'll be moving soon (relocating, wife got a nice job in another city) and will hopefully move into a place where I'll be able to set my gear up and work with it on my own time. I want to try composing some original stuff using drum programming done with Reason's Redrum program (some electronic sounds, some actual kit samples, whatever, I know it's not the greatest but it will work for me). I'm wondering if its possible to, via MIDI (and probably clock syncing) use the HD24's transport to control Reason, or vice versa. That is, if I compose a drum track in Reason and I want to record real guitar, bass, etc over top, can I have it set that when I press play on the HD24, Reason will begin to play back my MIDI track, so that if I later dump the tracks to the computer for mixing or render the Reason song to a wav file, the two will sync up? I hope this is making sense.

I read the HD24 manual's sections on MIDI timecode and MMC and such, but I must admit its a bit Greek to me. In essence, I want to play along to the Reason song while tracking instruments to the HD24 in a way that they will sync up exactly the same, every time, and will start and stop simultaneously with the push of a single button. So, is this possible? Is this even a coherent question?

Thanks a lot in advance.
