I am trying to run a Line 6 POD HD desktop into my Cubase 5 LE DAW and failing miserably. I am getting sound through my monitors but Cubase is not reading the signal. I am running through a small mixer and my connections are:

Computer out -> mixer input (ch 3)
POD HD USB -> computer
POD HD output -> mixer input (ch 4)
Mixer output -> KRK Rockit 8 monitors

Windows 7/i7-3770/16gb/64-bit

Anyone familiar with Cubase?

Did you select the Pod within Cubase? Devices>Device Setup...>VST Audio System?

I don't know about Cubase, but in Sonar you have to arm the track for recording before the meters will register signal being passed.

Are you adding the track as an audio track or a VST track in Cubase?

I've tried adding it as an "Instrument" and as "Audio"

Just so you know, you WILL want it to be an Audio track, not an instrument track.

Instrument tracks are for VST instruments, and are essentially an aux track and a MIDI track combined into one. =]

If you are trying to get the signal to show in the mixer (Cubase does not have a separate meter AFAIK) then you need to turn on the wee speaker symbol in the mixer panel.

If you have your connections and routing right you should in any case get the tiny, pretty bloody useless meter blipping in the Transport bar. See my attachment.

You might have determined that I don't like Cubase much! I don't and rarely use it, this LE5 issue came with my NI KA6 and the two perform well together I suspect because of N'Is bloody fantastic drivers!

My son uses LE6 for MIDI work because in conjunction with a PC and a 2496 it gives him the lowest possible latency. Then, the .wavs are bounced over to Nice and Easy Samplitude! You might like Sam SilverCloud..Free!

Dave.
