HAVING PROBLEMS INSTALLING TASCAM IF-FW/DMmk2 ON MY HP COMPUTER

Please please can anyone help me.i am finding it very difficult to install the drivers for windows 7. I am using a hp desktop with windows 7 professional os. I have tried everything i know i still can not use it as a daw and i can not get sound out. I have downloaded the lastest drivers for windows 7 and i am still having problems.
I am using the dm 4800 digital mixer.please please i need some one to assist me.

I had the same issue with my Mac..Very hard to get the thing working.

What I had to do to get my dm4800 working with my DAW (Logic) was that I had to first update the drivers in the dm4800...the manual should tell you how to upgrade the firewire card to the latest etc...then I tried all of the drivers that Tascam had. The latest driver didn't work for me so I am having to use an old driver. It works but the computer doesn't even recognise my mixer and says that nothing is connected or working, but it works.

Make sure you have the mixer connected via USB as well so that you can upgrade the mixer driver or firmware. This also allows all of the remote functions like automation etc.

So basically you will have to trial and error different drivers until you get the thing working, i.e. install a new driver (maybe for vista or xp?) then restart and so on.....but make sure you update the mixer internal drivers. If you have done that and it does not work, maybe you can reset the firewire card via the jumpers to default and then try all the different drivers again.

Just a quick one.
In the DM's settings, see if your installed card is listed and locked?
