What do you guys think of this song... its called "D & R"... its the first song on my soundclick page...

refuse to listen until you decide to upload it somewhere else. the myspace player sucks and degrades the quality. so if you want us to critique the mix, provide us with the appropiate quality.

typing as i listen... what a difference! quality wise from the myspace player. :)

the intro has a very soothing vibe to it, reminds me of enya. don't know if you've heard her music or not, but definitely like it.

the mix sounds very clean, the song is easy to the ear. love the way the drums were mixed, they contrast the softer side of the song (give it that accent).

your vocalsss.... i really like them, you have a good voice. also liked the way they were mixed and panned.

really don't have anything negative to say about the song. truly enjoyed and liked it both the mix and the song itself. honestly, good job man! really like the song... playing it again.

Well I know the sound quality sucks... but if you're an artist you need to have a myspace artist page... so yeah...

really liked the plod along rythm...and all the levels seem right on my my set up...absolutely hated the vocal effects, I know its a personal thing but I just think everything is so nice on this...subtle keys and guitars...and I like the vocal tone

good song and performance, not so great effects


( cant believe that soundclick sounds better than anything but it was better than the myspace version...just shows ya :) )

i have one too... but i refuse to use that crappy thing myspace calls a music player. :o i use an alternate flash player ... soon will use the reverbnation player. anyways, i left you the feedback above ^

well it did because i really have nothing negative to say about it. this is the kind of song i'd be listening to in my car. i love this kind of music (specially when it's well done). :D

don't worry man... i'm a hawthorne heights fan for life. :o like i said i like these kind of songs. this sounds kinda gheyyy but i like to take late night drives and listen to these kinds of songs. makes me think about past situations or moments in time and reflect on them.. being all emotional and such. they bring back memories and the feelings attached to those memories :o they touch the heart.

Great singing, nice arrangement, I like the vocal effects (as opposed to a certain scottish person.....:D) No nits, this is chart material!

Overall I think the mix is nice, production is nice. Especially towards the end, everything gels nicely though maybe the vocal is a little too out front in that part. Where the vocalist doubles his melody, he is in tune with himself fine, but a couple of passages seem just the slightest bit out of time/synch with each other in starting phrases. I would pull the second of the vocal tracks down a little so it is not noticeable in these parts.
The acoustic guitar on the right sounds a little strong in the mix and doesn't come in on a blend as much as it probably could...it is competing a little too much with the solo piano intro. I would blend the ac guitar a little softer when it is introduced.

Nice mixing/production, man.

I like the mix, well done, the drums are a little boring, but i think they are ok for this kind of song. The volume is a little low, maybe this is only the mix and you still have to do the mastering.

About the song, is a nice song, in my personal opinion i think it lacks of emotion, the message is good, but not in the performance. I'll love to hear a change in the vocals, cause it's too similar during the whole song. As i said before, this is my personal opinion, the song as is right good, but i think it could be awesome with a little work, specially on vocals.

I thought the song was pretty good, but the vocal effect was out of place. It sounded heavily auto-tuned. Not quite up to T-pain levels, but much more than is normally used for simple pitch-correction.
 
I really enjoyed this. I feel like the mix was pretty spot on, but I'm listening through computer speakers also. The only thing I didn't like were the effects used on the vocals. Made them too thin and trebley. A warmer tone would've been really nice.

Good job man. Something I could listen to alot.
 
Dump the effects on the voice - whiny when you wanted emotional (it's a fine line between the odd snivel & snot running onto your lip).
Good song.
I embedded a soundclick player into my Mspace & fbook pages so that there is a better alternative (& more tracks) available.
 
I thought I could detect some autotune-ish "blip" sounds in the vocals, which has a tendency to trigger my gag reflex.

I'm not really into the whole emo thing personally... in fact, not at all... but if that's your bag then this is some good writing.
