I tried a driver that was sent from the company but it didn't support MIDI advanced mode, then there was one called version 1.3 but it too wasn't working in OSX10.8.4 anyone using one of these in ML?

Hi David,

I use the Edirol UA-25ex with a Macbook myself (though I have Snow Leopard, not Mountain Lion), had some issues getting it to work properly (like you, Advance mode didn't work) but the drivers are available from Roland's support website. I can't post the url 'cos I'm a new member myself but just do a search for the Edirol UA-25 and go to the 'Downloads' tab. Hope this helps!

Thanks Pepineros, I had the same trouble in 10.6, and I skipped Lion. The Apple forums are a good place to see how the newest OSX is working with Garageband or Logic. I went to Rolands' download page and that is where I got the version 1.3, but it still doesn't work, there is a warning on the Apple site that ML does not play nicely with M-Audio or Roland hardware. Since I don't sing I use an Akai EWI4000 MIDI controller and there is a product that doesn't nedd drivers and works in ML, it is called the Bespeco MIDI cable and has at one end a USB plug and the other end has the two MIDI in and out plugs,in the middel is a small unit that when on has a red light and two green lamps show MIDI going in and out, very inexpensive and it works.
