The drop in the used market is due to the fucked economy. There are literally tons and tons of used guitars offered for sale every day by desperate folks trying to make the rent or car payment.

I had my 'quick reply' typed out on page 2, then figured I'd read page 3 before sending. I came to a similar conclusion:
I read this as 'signs of the times'. Lots of people are really struggling in this ruined economy, and are now forced to part with their *collectibles* for whatever they can get; thereby flooding the marketplace with deals to be had. Supply & demand, and it's a buyer's market. I say buy while you can, just wait until India and China really get bitten by the vintage/collectible audio gear bug. You'll be able to name your price.
