harmonics tuning

can someone explain this method to me?
i dont get how to tune wiht the harmonics methodd

Hello. Simply put, it is very similar to matching the frequencies of the strings as one would do by fretting a note on the 6th (Low E) string and plucking the 5th string open. In the above example, both will give you an "A" note, on two different strings allowing them to be tuned to each other.

By using harmonics, you can do the same thing. First of all one most know how to achieve harmonics. These are sounded when you lightly place your finger over the actual fret of the 5th 7th and 12th frets (Also achieved in higher registers) and pluck or pick the string. For tuning purposes, you would achieve a harmonic on the low E string (6th String) at the 5th fret. This harmonic can be tuned to the harmomic which is achieved on the 5th string 7th fret. You can continue this for the ramainder of the strings on down until you get to the 2nd and 3rd strings. The harmonic positions change here. Let me know if you don't get the explanation.
