Hardware or software effects

wasn't sure where to post this but..


what do you think would be your best bet,
recording guitar through an amp with effects built in amp
recording guitar through amp and pedals
recording guitar raw then using "stock" effects with protools ?

i guess what i'm asking is, which is better, the hardware in my amp, or the plug ins that come with protools?

well it depends...if your DEAD set on using the effects, have the settings perfect, and have an amp with good effects then you should track using the effects. But if the protools effects are decent, the flexibility would be a huge plus. if it were me i would use the software...except for wahwah

Go for real am and analogue stomp box effects.
