I mix in (2x) real-time
Help me out with my mix. What problems are you hearing, tonally and volume wise. This isn't the full song but you should be able to get the idea. Sounds punchy to me at one listen then sounds muddy on the next. Give me your input please!:) Thanks, Eric

The name of the band is Different Directions. 2 guitar 1 bass 1 drum set.

Eric,
A rather big file to download - Australian ADSL stands for Always Downloads Slower than Let on.
THe fuzz guitar is more fizz than fuzz.
The toms are too up front.
The cymbals are a bit loud.
The bass disappears a few times - particularly in the faster passages - is it lost inside the bass drum EQ?
Not really muddy.

The right guitar is obnoxious sounding. I listened through the monitors and cans and it grates my eardrums. The kick attack is very present but maybe too boxy and clicky. Sounds like it's boosted at around 2-3k maybe? If so, slide that boost up to around 4-5k to get the boxiness out and get more "slap". Some timing sloppiness and too loud toms, but it's not too bad overall.

Thanks for your replies guys. I'm going to check out that kick drum boxiness. I'm beginning to hear what you guys are talking about and I'm thankful for that. I'm hearing the fizz and the cymbals being a bit upfront. I want to shape that right guitar into something more pleasing. Would you guys give an updated mix a listen? Thanks so so so much, Eric.:)

Sorry about shredding your ears Greg.:o
