The time hase come to hang the monitors from the ceiling.

I have thought of a few ways to do it. The first idea was to locate the studs in the ceiling and screw a good sized peice of plywood up there so that I have a respectable anchor that can hold the weight.

What to hang them with? Certainly not chains, I think they would rattle. Is piano wire a good choice? Am I missing some readily available hardware store item?

Ive seen Macreme hanging plant holders used. they may even act as a shockmount for the speakers.

Im not sure the cieling mount is reccomended for you studiomonitors.

I hang my my monitors using steel cable I bought from Lowe's.

I mounted my monitors on shelving just above the door-jamb height.

Shelving not an option in my situation. They need to be about 2 feet out from the back wall, and there is equipment and furniture under where they need to be so I can't just stack them on the equipment.
