Guitar Tone/song Critique

Okay, I should have said guitar 'Patch'...... anyway, I dialed in a new sound on my J and wanted to get some outside opinions.

The song is "melt".............. it's a lot dirtier and noisier than any of my previous patches, but I think that's why I kind of dig it.

Can't seem to get it to play - how long do you wait on the screen before it's supposed to begin playing?

Tone sounds good, but distant.

Tone sounds good and grungy to me.I like the change around 2:00 too.The single notes sound like they could be less distorted--but what the hell do I know when it comes to distortion--I know it is very hard to get it right and record it.I think with some backup this should sound real cool...

The patch does have some chorus on it to begin with, then I feel I've added too much verb in the mix (hence the distant sound).. thanks lbanks for confirming.

Yeah dolod44, I don't know much about distortion either other than I'm trying to go for a clean distortion. Not rip your face off fizz and sizzle, but more like the power section getting pushed and not so much pre-amp noise. It's retarded working with a modeler to get such results, but I guess that's why I'm still a home hobbyist.... just playing with ideas.

Practice makes, err more practice time.
