So does anyone know the identity of the band and/or producer?

When did all this happen, the copyright says 2002, 2004... I assume the project started in 2002 and hasn't been completed?

There is much speculation on the net about this. Some folks think the band was Nine Days, as "mixerman" may have engineered their last record. I'm not convinced that they are the band, though. After some extensive google searching, I have a fair idea who mixerman is.

There are very few people in this world that know what band Bitch Slap is. I rarely deny or confirm guesses on this subject, but I can tell you that Nine Days is not the band.

I wrote the diaries real-time in 2002. I edited them for the book which I released in 2004. I put in some information and thoughts in the book that I couldn't reveal at the time of the postings.

i finally got around to reading the mixerman diary online last month and i was seriously glued to my screen the whole time. i meant to buy the book but sort of forgot until now!

Your online stuff convinced me to buy the book. I can't remember the last time I read something that made me laugh that much. I hope you write another one!
 
Did you notice how many members signed up after that thread was created? It was like people just had to join in the fight. Nimrods!
 
It's up to 31 pages now. I'm only on page 8, but here's the latest gem from Jp22:

"I do use Compressor(s)/LIMITER(s), but not to control the dynamic range. I use EQ(s) for that. "

I'm tellin' ya, this guy is the Troll King. I don't think that anyone in the Cave can touch him.

EDIT: Awwww, they locked the thread. It's like when an author you like dies before finishing a series; you'll never know what might have happened. Oh, well, I found a new forum, anyway. More opportunity to waste time...

If you're still reading this forum, any explaination as to why the new diaries got pulled?

Just curious. It's fun stuff to read. Actually makes me a bit sympathetic to bands like Bitch Slap, and explains a lot about why the music industry is in rough shape.

I can't give you a specific explanation other than to say, in the relatively near future, you will have some understanding as to why the new diaries were pulled.
