Hi folks,

I've been using the Line 6 POD for my PC recording, and whilst it's quite good...I'd like to step things up a notch (both quality & functional-wise).....and was thinking I should now get a more expensive / decent rack modelling unit....

(Ie: like the POD Pro, etc...)

Has anyone used or heard the Rocktron Replitone MP???

I just read an article about it in this months guitar Magazine, and a couple of 'great' reviews on the net.....

I've been demoing the Digitech Genesis 3 the past 4-5 days now (as an alternative to my POD)...but am not impressed at all...the sounds are very "over-compressed/synthetic, etc" and it's rather awkward to use some of the effects editing functions too.

The POD Pro (which I have heard - sounds very good) and the Rocktrone Replitone MP are the only two pro-rack modelling guitar units I have been able to find any info on.....

any comments would be appreciated....

"cheers"

imho there is no replacement for a tube amp !! period!!
why pay big $$$$ for a cheesy gadget that that claims to deliver perfomance when you could buy a good tube amp ?the tube amp is the single most ,versitile piece of recording equipment u can own!! dont sell ur sound short.

Yeah,

I know that tube amps are the REAL McCOY, etc., etc...

But, for my PC recording I like the flexibility of a POD style gizmo, so that I can get a whole range of amp sounds, effects, etc... with just the twist of a knob :-)

and, BTW....the POD ain't so bad either....YES, some of the sounds are a little THIN, but for $250 bucks, it does a pretty OK job.....

I was just hoping that something like the Rocktron Replitone MP might be as good as the reviews say it is......, even better than the POD Pro...., which does sound rather good....

Anybody out there using it????????????

10 - 4, over...

Not using the Rocktron, but if you want to step up from the POD, you should audition the SansAmp PSA-1. No effects, but IMHO, better raw tone than any modeler.

POD is pretty much the shit for PC-recording... (direct ya know)

the rocktron is a live processor... i think you should keep the pod, and wwhen it bores ya.. get the sansamp TOO!
