I'm looking for a descent power amp to rackmount with an eq. and effects for my guitar. Does anyone have any suggestions? Not looking to spend an assload of money either...Thanks

I think that my boss pedal has preamps built in. I just need something to run it through. I feel that my old marshall head colors my tone too much. plus I have very little control over the eq. I thought that if I just had a power amp and an eq i could do better. Will I need a power amp still?

boss pedal....let me guess...GT-6? i have that and I thought about getting a power amp...in theory yes you could just go get a power amp....BUT! you might come out cheaper just buying a head with a good clean channel. i know the peavey transtube supreme is 249.99 I owned this head once before and had a pretty good time with it before i owned the gt-6. i know both of them together would sound pretty good...you wouldnt have to worry about the lack of eqing.....you can program the eq on a gt-6 for the distortion and the clean and then a master eq would be the head.
