Hey fellas. First time out here - very cool! I'm hoping I can glean some tips off of y'all. I need some suggestions on how to dial in my BOSS GT-3 for heavy guitar (Sevendust and Static X are among my fave tones) in the studio.
I've toyed with it a bit and can get it to sound great on it's own through (especially my studio headphones). But as soon as I lay it down on 'tape' (digital, actually), it sounds terribly out of place with the rest of the mix (it's either way too bassy and boomy or too thin and nasal). Any thoughts on how to dial this in would be greatly appreciated.
And I see that the POD stuff seems to be quite popular -- any thoughts on that would be welcome as well (especially if the consensus is that the GT-3 is hopeless). I looked into the POD Pro -- is that worht the extra $$$ compared to the standard (I'm using the GT-3 for bass now, as well).
Thanks in advance,
mls
