I'm in for 2 p81's. If it comes down to only 2 units being the difference between everyone getting an extra 25 bucks off, I would take 2 of whichever model needed to sell an extra 2 units. I'm considering getting 2 p73's also, but I'm not sure yet.

I definitely want 2 acm3's.

I would be interested in seeing the info on the mics below the acm-4 on the musicians workshop page and if they are going to be a part of this group buy.

Since most people seem to be into the 73's, and since they are the only option with a D/I and thus being the most flexible.... I would be totally down in just eliminating the other options so as to get a lower price on the 73.

I should have said that as well -- I think I want two 81s, but I'll go for two of whatever one we choose, *if* we go that route. $200vs$175vs$?? doesn't matter that much to me, but if it's necessary to trim down in order to get total orders up, that's fine. Also, the crowd definitely knows more than I do on these sorts of things.

I was thinking about trying one of each 73,81,84 but am also interested in some of these new mics - can anyone post/repost info on the bottle style mic or any of the unnamed ones on Chance's website?
Thanks!!!

Oh yeah we're closer. I am planning to send a "mass E-mail" this week end. Every day there are new additions the E-list. Remember Quantity brings the cost down.

Right on - sounds like a lot of folks here are ready to move forward.

Chance, this may be redundant but please post here on the BBS once you've sent the email giving us the ok to begin ordering to ensure that we're all on top of our email, and please give a cut off date for ordering if possible as well so we all know what our expectations from you are.

Thanks for making this possible - once again you've offered an opportunity that affords many of us home studio guys the ability to expand our setups at a better cost than otherwise available.

Is there any news on the prices of these? I haven't seen anything (though I haven't meticulously searched both threads, so sorry if there's an obvious answer on page gazillion )

2 73's for sure, then maybe one 81 and one 84. I'd like to get a 6802T as well. I have a friend who wants to get an ACM-3 and at least one pre-amp... probably the 73 but I'm not 100%. We're planning on combining orders to make it a little easier on Chance.

i'll pick up one or two (sorry to be a bit wishy washy) depending on when the payment period is. i'm also drumming up some interest with my recordifying pals around here.

Covered in earlier postings. Depends on volume. Likely in the $175-200 per unit range plus shipping.

Two 73's. And that large diaphragm tube mic I wish I bought the first time around.

Aj

Back on page 94 Chance says they'll be "N" like but there has not really been much discussion of the Character of sound of these Pres.
Is there much of a difference in Sound of these Pres or is the only real difference the EQ options and to have a DI or VU?
Can anyone say if these will be more like a Vintech72 or a Great River?

I have been wanting some Color to go with my Sytek and Octane... possibly the Great River 2nv or Pacifica if I go that rout or the API 3124+ but I have no real experience w/ either the Neve or API sound. So I'm pretty damn excited about this... seeing how the Mics turned out so great (the 310 and 6802 are so much better than I expected) I think the Pres are going to be equally as surprising.

Let's say on a scale of 1 to 10 a SP vtb1 is a 3 a RNP is a 6 and a Great River is a 9... as far as Sound Quality is concerned... Where do you think these ACMP pres will sit on the scale? 5-7 ??? (I have no experience w/ those pres... my rating is based on reviews I've read here and there)

Oh, & I'll be in for at least 2 (not sure what model). & I received both Test EMails but won't be able to respond the the Good Faith estimate until next week...

Thanks,
B.

A Neve design is going to live or die on the basis of a lot of custom-wound inductors . . . and the first thing everybody wants to do the ribbon mics is replace the trafos. Food for thought . . .
hey chance-- do we know if these pres are using inductors or not? how many are in there?
