Any other interest in the ACM 3?

No. There's absolutely no point in a schematic for a ribbon mic. I can draw the schematic for any non-phantom-powered ribbon on the back of a napkin in about twelve seconds.

You have 2-4 wires coming down from the "motor" assembly (the ribbon), one or two of which are signal, one or two of which are inverted signal. The non-inverted signal goes into one side of the primary winding on the transformer. The inverted signal goes into the other side. The two ends of the secondary winding are hooked to the two signal wires on the XLR connector. The center tap on the secondary (if applicable) is generally left floating. The body of the transformer is grounded to the ground pin on the XLR connector, as is the body of the microphone.

That's it. If Chance asks for a schematic for a ribbon mic, they're going to laugh at him. Please don't ask for a schematic for any of the ribbon mics (ACM-1 through ACM-4). :D

Ditto, plus the 310 and the 240.

My vote is on the 6802T and 310. I wouldn't mind the 240, though, because I think it's probably the same as a couple of microphones I have lying around here that I got pretty cheap a few weeks ago.

I agree. A schem of a ribbon is pretty much like asking for a scematic of an XLR cable.

On the flip-side....

The values (impedance / ratio)of the transformer(s) might be of interest to some.
And the ACM4 is a dual ribbon. Are the motors series or parallel? Do they have single or dual transformers (highly doubtful)?

Bump.

Anybody else want schematics for anything other than the ACM-6802T, 583, 310, 240, and possibly the ACM-4 (if it had transformer parameters)?

i'd be happy with schematics for just the 6802T, but i'll take any other ones that become available.

This would be of interest. I chose the ACM4 hoping for a higher output level. If that doesn't pan out then some wiring details may be very handy.

Still haven't had the chance to request those schematics yet. I have been busy counting and recounting the models, colors, and combinations for the orders. I will be submitting them tonight. Then they will E-mail me the invoice which is needed to do the money transfer to China.

so any estimate on what we're looking at timewise? i've got 37 mics worth of people hounding me about when they're going to see some mics and wondering whether i'm going to leave the country with their money...

You have people hounding you? Think of my position LOL. I was going to submit my order last night, but then I totally forgot about my own order LOL. I will be submitting the order today. I should recieve the E-paper work within a day. Once I recieve that, I can then make the bank transfer and things will be in motion. The time this all will take is unknown but I will keep posted just like the last buy.

How horribly ironic... to have almost gone through all of this only to leave yourself out!

Glad you remembered. :D

(So... are you saying they aren't in yet? :p )

haha good point. thanks again, chance. any word on what the products might be for the next GB?

What really threw a wrench in the spokes was when I was doing the final count several people used 2 different E-dresses, or had 2 different orders. I use the address for shipping that was on the Pay Pal reciept. Pay Pal automaticly prints out the shipping label saving me a ton of time. Anyone that used a different E-dress/address will be the last to be shipped. I can't see everyone that did this according to the instructions to have to wait just because of a few. I understand that things happen, but once I recieve the goods, they will be shipped ASAP.

I just got a call from NAMM and they do have discounts on shipping to the US and Canada and air shippment to Austrailia thru fedX. the boxes are free so this will be a big savings for all of you.

sweet...the shipping from ontario will probably only be like $5 then

hooray for cali

chance,
would it be possible to pay more for shipping by ups or us mail? i've been screwed by fedex many times (they have a nasty habit of losing packages to me here-- seriously about a 40% success rate). if not i guess i'll find an agreeable religion and start praying now.
thanks in any case. :o

yeah fedex has fucked me many a time as well, i think the delivery guys in our area are just idiots. i'm alright with this though, as my package is going to my job, so i don't have to deal with yorktown's finest...
