I guess I will close the payment portion of this process next Monday afternoon. Thats when I will do the counting of each persons orders and send to the manufacturer to get the invoice necessary for the bank transfer. I am getting flooded with PM's and E-mail's for last minute orders. I have already passed those steps in the process. With respect to everyone who has placed their order, we must move on and get our product ASAP. I'll probably start another GB within the month with more mics as well as new products.

Man... I thought I told my friend the 6th, but he didn't give me his list until the 7th... to which we missed the deadline... bummer.

This is going well so far but I sympathize with the late comers. I almost passed up this entire thread myself because when I originally looked at the first post, I noticed that it was dated back in 2005. Normally I would back up and move on to more current threads but I was curious to see how a GB works. Had I not jumped around and noticed the recent posts on page 30-something, I would not have even known about this GB. Which leads me to my suggestion...

Chance, I would start a new thread for the next one if I were you. A lot of folks here at HR probably still don't know about this. (Unless, of course, you wanted it that way.) ;)

i agree...i don't quite get why there wasn't a new thread started for the updated GB...

i almost missed this one too. i mean, sure it's a bitch to handle a ton of new orders, but hey it's good for business.

Yep, that's what happened to me. I thought it was an old thread and skipped over it. Once again

When an old thread jumps to the top. it's because there's a new post (unless it's a poll.) So the normal thing to do is to read the last post, and work backwards. I don't think this is a valid excuse for missing the buy. But I agree, for a new buy a new thread should be started - this one's been beaten to death. :)

Hi Chance,

I sent you a PM about my mistaken duplicate order through Paypal (uncleared as yet) - just trying to prevent placing the same Mic order twice. So sorry about my mix-up...

Just don't pay or cancel the invoice that you want to delete. If you don't pay, you won't be forced to pay.

Monday afternoon... got it. You're in California right? I'm still REALLY hoping to have my mess cleared up by then. I had no idea what a PIA this Paypal deal was going to turn into...

If gear makers start approaching you, it might be possible for you to get samples of their wares before the group buy... thus giving you, and us, a lot more info to work with when we make group buys. This is a win-win... for us, we know as much as possible about the items for purchase, and for them, you can quote them actual possible dollar amounts for the orders based on the previous orders. I imagine you're becoming quite an attractive option for some Chinese factories...

I'm really sorry, Chance, but I already initiated the payment for it by mistake (on May 13 at 09:57:16 PDT), and it is still uncleared, and Paypal won't allow me to stop it. I'm afraid it may eventually clear on approx. Wednesday, May 16, and you will receive the duplicate Paypal payment around that time. (Or there may be insufficient funds on May 16, and Paypal may automatically try to pay it again with my credit card backup several days later - that's what the customer service agent at Paypal told me).

So sorry about my mistake - I'm just trying to prevent you from placing that particular Mic order to China twice on my behalf. Eventually, I would hope you could refund me the duplicated payment (if it comes to that).

Sorry about that!

What mics did you order? If you get both orders, I'm sure you could sell the extras here or elsewhere for a profit. :)

Yeah, If you have a couple of those ribbons I'll take them.

Well, I'm hoping not to get a redundant double order (because it's a fairly large outlay of cash/credit), but in a worse case scenario, I will let you guys know what I do get and will make them available to you here first.

I bought some new mics from this buy so I'm willing to part with the two ribbon mics I got from the last buy. I'll post an ad in the for sale section if interested.

Hey Chance,

I emailed and PM'ed you but haven't heard back, so I figured I'd try here. I emailed you my order several weeks ago, but I have not received a Paypal invoice...can I resend you my order, or how would you like to proceed?

Thanks a lot!

Jon M

What was the E-dress that the order was sent from? Did you put "MICROPHONES" in caps as instructed? The process is automated and all orders were automaticaly transfered to a seperate folder. Let me know your E-dress, and I'll do a search for that E-dress and see what comes up.
