Does anyone know if these mics correspond to other marketed models? Just looking for any additional info on these mics.

Or should we avoid that kind of discussion so that we don't get any unwanted attention?

well somewhere i head one of the nady and then a beyer and it was a huge difference so i kinda lost interest in the whole ribbon thing

You should avoid that kind of discussion so the relevant vendors don't pitch a fit.

That is 100% true, however I have tried my Royer 121 ribbon on a crunched guitar cab, then tried a vintage RCA BK-5 ribbon, then on a fluke, I tried a cheap China ribbon, and the Cheap China ribbon won hands down. Now, I kind of look at mics like colors. When I was a kid I got a small box of Crayons. only the basic colors. Later I got the big box with all the inbetween colors. It's good to have many colors on your palete. It seems that all these mics have a different charactor, usefull for some things, and not useful for others. Another perk is that it won't break the bank. Some who were in the last Group buy knows exactly what I mean by all this. Some have gotten a tube condenser mic for less than a note in the key of C ($100.00) and later found that the same mic was selling for almost $1000.00 with some minor changes such as a different tube and a famous logo on it.

Probably on a vocal, that is where the cheap ones stick out but not always a bad thing either. The RSM 3 really sounds quite nice on some voices. The fathead sounds great on cabs and it is worth it just to get that kind of variety into your studio at that price. I have three knock offs and three beyers and they all get equal time

Within in the next couple days, I'll have the rest of the specs ans prices on my website

I see some of the prices are up on the site. Cool! So for the not so technical like me is there anyway to find out what mics they compare to? I know we shouldn't say the model X is the same as company Y's model..... but there got to be some way other than trying to compare specs.

Now what I can I sell around the house to buy these mics.

Do any of these have shock mounts or clips? I see a couple of mics that are calling my name. :D

Chance, have you had the opportunity to listen to any of these?

I'm in.. prolly pick up several. Now the hard part will be finding shock mounts that don't cost twice the price of the mic. :p

I'll keep watching the thread... don't order without me. :D

I'm in for several as well. I can't wait to see full specs and pricing. :D

Chance, if you're ever in Oregon (Portland), beer's on me. I'm talking hand crafted microbrews too. :)

These mics can not be compared to other mics. They're different. I should have info on shock mounts soon. I am offering these mics with out cases, cables, and shock mounts to keep the cost down. The 1310 tube/SDC is sold with all the accessories because it is a new style of mic. I wonder if the "name brands" will copy this LOL.
Remember you saw it here first LOL.
Unlike the last time, the tube mics all have socketed tubes which can be replaced. They are not hard wired.
The 1310 is priced kind of high to cover the cost of tooling the new design.

Chance-- I see that prices are up. How/when do we pay for what we'd like to order?
The 1310 looks awesome. Are the capsules replaceable, and if so, any idea if the Peluso SDC capsules will fit?
Thanks again for doing this!

Also, do you have any idea how much shipping will be from the last group buy?

I am almost certain than nothing will cost more than a note in the key of C ($100.00) The price that I will post will include the overseas shipping, duty, broker fees and all costs associated. The only unforseen expense is shipping from here to you.
So th prices on the website are including shipping to you?
Then there will be an additional cost of what ever it costs to ship from you (Ontario California) to us?
How will that last bit be determined and paid?

I have included the overseas shipping, duty, and broker fee in the price. Because they will ship from here to you (different locations) That is impossible to calculate.
I'm not sure about the Peluso

edit: I don't have all the specs and prices up yet

Thanks Chance. So will those interested pay for the mics and overseas shipping now (or soon) and then pay the shipping when they arrive, or maybe a safe flat fee based on number of units now/soon?

I can't set a flat fee because like last time, some mics went across town, some went to Canada, some went to the Bahamas, and some went to Austrailia. There is a wide varience of shipping cost.

Oh yeah :o
Any idea when we can start paying in? I'm sorry to keep asking, but I'd love to cover the payment for my order while I've got the cash-- I'd hate for payment time to come around and be caught short and not be able to order because I had to do something silly like pay bills (j/k more likely buying some guitar pedal I saw on ebay or something). If not I will try to be more disciplined :o
Thanks :D!

Count me in

Count me in for at least a couple .I was in on the last group buy and i was not dissappointed. Chance.....you da man!
