Group Buy Interest?

Point well taken. I edited my post. Can you do the same please?

Keep it simple, Chance. Add up the shipping, duty, storage, etc. Divide by the number of mics. Charge each of us according to the number of mics we bought. Don't worry about the weight differences or price differences.

It'll come out around $6 to $7 per mic. So I'll owe you $13 for my two mics, plus another $4 to cover my original Paypal fee, plus US shipping for my mics (figure another $10), plus enough to cover the second Paypal fee (about a buck). A total of probably under $30. If it's off a few dollars either way, no one is going to worry about it. You shouldn't either. Just make sure that you don't shortchange yourself.

Then if each of us adds in enough extra to let you buy a six-pack or a twelve-pack of good beer, you'll have a very enjoyable spring season. :)

Thanks.

Jim

Note: edited to correct the estimates with more up-to-date information.

We're taking a break for some greeze.
the total so far that I covered is $2.00 for traffic fee, $65.00 for handeling charge, oversea shipping $108.00, consumption/entry fee $85.00, duty and broker $129.52, bond $50.00 for a total of $439.52. and we have 26 in the group. I havent tallied up the Pay Pal fees, but I believe it was 3.9% plus $0.30 for each transaction. If we could come to some agreement, they will ship tomorrow morning. During the session I am now doing, I just ripped open my HRM-10, 8, and 15, and I don't know why, but it blows my wes dooley refurbished vintage RCA BK-5 away on guitar cab. All 3 hava that rich ribbon charactor. I have never had a producer make a note of what mic we used on a cab (he wrote "the silver mic in the dark walnut case with velvet in it" LOL) I want to get these to you all ASAP, but at the same time, I want to do everyone right. Later I will E-mail all the above documents so you will have for your records

Looks to me like if you just take $439.52 divided by how many mics were ordered whatever that number is should be the fee for each mic plus if we all add 4% to cover your paypal fees plus shipping we should all be set. I would also say we should all send you extra in the payment for undertaking this joint purchase. I know I'm going to. :)

Jim

69 mics were ordered. 31 of those were the HRM-10 (good choice)

So were talking about $6.37 per mic. Maybe you should just make it $7 per mic to cover the .30 cents for each PP transaction. The overall picture is we all got a great deal on whatever mic(s) we ordered. Thanks again for doing this Chance. :)

Oh and I ordered an HRM-14B and now I'm wishing I had ordered two of each.:(

The next buy will be much easier. The first buy I did was with 797, with a lot of LA studios. Because of 911, things have changed A LOT. Now that I have an account with them, and I know the ropes better, I would need some help, but yeah, lets do it again.

Request for funds

Has anyone got a request yet? I keep checking but have not recieved one yet.

Walt

You should get it tomorrow. It is quite time-consuming figuring the portions/ratio for duty and bond and shipping. Plus figuring the % charge for Pay pal then adding $.30 for each transaction. Then getting everything boxed and weighed.

Thanks Chance

Many thanks Chance. No rush. I just want to be sure I get your payment to you as quickly as possible.

Yesterday I got in my truck and saw a long receipt. As it turns out, being in a hurry to get these out to you guys, I forgot to include the packaging/weigh charge. I had each order professionally packed and weighed. It's not much, but I felt it was important to have this last leg done right after coming this far. There are 23 packages going out. Some are only one small mic, some have several tube mics which are heavy due to the PSU. For the 23 shippments, it came to $129.00, well worth the investment.
I've already tried mine, and opened a few up. If you remember Alctron stated that they delayed our shippment for quality control reasons as well as improvments, well, I compared an HRM-8 that I got at the NAMM show, to one that was delivered, and sure enough most of the internal components are different. In the old, there was a chalky looking resister, that was replaced. The transformer is different too. All of the mics are quite heavy and seem well made. I am anxious to get some feedback from y'all when you get them. I only have a few sessions today and most likely they will ship tomorrow as today, I will be completing the requests for ship$

Something else I might add. In many instances, the cost to ship to you 2 day vs 7 day was just a dollar or two and I went with 2nd day

Just quick note as I cant send E-mail right now as the MAC is backing up projects. Everything is packed and ready to go. I printed the postage labels yesterday and today I will tape them on, and take to the Post office. Using Pay Pal made this a breeze except for the mics going to Canada and Austrailia. You should all see your mics next week. Just curious, but when I made the shipping labels, there was a space for an E-mail note to you. I just put "SHIP" Did it give you a tracking number?

I didn't get an e-mail, but there is a box to click on my paypal account display to "Check Shipment," which displays the USPS tracking status as "Electronic Shipping Info Received."

The email with the tracking link arrived this afternoon.

My E-mail is down for 24 hours and I just wanted to let those from Austrailia and Canada know that I will ship those next week. I couldn't do it with the automated Paypal shipping labels, where all I had to do was drop them off at the post office.
