He reciently E-mailed me pics of 3 new bottle-neck type ribbons which are not on their web-site yet. The shipping would be greatly reduced as the order quantity is increased

I guess I should have stated that I am not affiliated with that company. I am looking for some cheap ribbons to examine, take apart, modify, and learn. Since they are so cheap, If I should screw something up, I won't be out that much money. I have a friend who has a pro studio in the Bahamas that has the HRM-10, and right out of the box, he says it's awsome on guitar cabs. He also said that he would never admit as to where he got it and how much it cost

I am looking for some cheap ribbons to examine, take apart, modify, and learn.

A ribbon is a very simple mic: magnets, a ribbon or two, a transformer, and a few wires to connect it all. The only thing easy moddable is swapping the transformer, unless you feel like sourcing different thickness of ribbon material and cutting your own ribbons. You could try different magnets too, but that will require some fabrication, and at that level you might as well build your own mic.

I'm not sure. I will be ordering at least 12. The new ones they have look good. but that means nothing. After I get these I'll probably have Wes Dooley check them out. I am going on the word of my friend in the Bahamas to get mine. If I could figure out how to post a pict and specs here, I would. I don't know when they will up-date their web site

They just added 3 more different types of ribbons that REALLY look interesting. One is a double ribbon mic They're not on their website yet, and I have jpegs of them but I can't seem to post them. anyone have any ideas how I can post. Or I can send someone an E-mail with the jpegs and you can post.

I just E-mailed someone with the pics. Perhaps they can post them. The only problem that I can forsee is orchestrating a group buy. I am in So. Cal. and who knows where everyone else is at. I know for a fact that it is the same company that makes the Nady, Apex, and too many others to mention here. Getting one of these will probably blow some minds, I know that I've never seen anything like these. They also told me that they will make that Nady/Apex with an XLR jack instead of the attached cable. If someone has any ideas how to orchestrate this, please post

If you have the overhead, you could take orders with names, shipping addresses, etc, and once they arrive arrange the payment and shipment with the individual buyers, either privately or even via pre-arranaged eBay "Buy It Now" auctions to get some extra positive eBay feedback. Or perhaps take a 50% down payment via PayPal to guarantee an order. I think with PayPal both parties should be protected amply.

Me too...I want to try the HRM=5 and the HRM=14...I didn't see a price for the 14. Just keep in mind that I'm a freak...no...a nut really. Credit card fraud turns my knobs and I routinely drive for days without sleep just to meet my "business partners"....no...seriously.
