Chance when you get ready let me know and I will help you put the video on you tube.

OK cool.
We used the 200 for scrtch vox and will most definately use it on the final vox. We are recording to DVD (Isn't that MP4?) we're actually ahead of schedual and will be mixing on the 29th. After we mix one song, I'll mix it to DVD and with someones help post it

the audio stream is usually ac3. The video stream is mpeg2. Are you using one of those camcorders that records straight to dvd?

We're going to DVD and the audio is 24tr. using SMPTE. We'll mix the 24tr and video back on to DVD

In that case, DVD can be just another storage medium, and can support whatever files the hardware/software you are using support. (I'm not sure if you are using your pc/mac, or if you are using a specialized film industry thing in this case)
But dvd is only limited to a specific format for playback on stand alone
dvd players. video stream mpg2, audio ac3 or pcm (16bt stereo wave).
But as a storage medium the sky's really the limit on what can be supported.(within the 9gb storage limit of course)

They say the best way to upload to youtube is to use a mpeg4/xvid file at a resolution of 640x480, with mp3 audio file at 64k mono. (I know that bites)
If you get that file made stright from your NLE that would be easiest but if worse came to worse you could use this program http://handbrake.fr/ (Handbrake) to convert it from the final DVD.

I was just checking out "Tamura" xfrmrs ( http://www.eifl.co.jp/index/export/tamurat/tamura.htm ) that Scott Dorsey has used in the C-3000 mic. While I was there I was also checking out their 6072 tubes. 5000 for one! I hope that is yen. When I was there in the 70's it was 360 Y = $1.00. Anyone know todays echg rate?
___________

FYI, Dave Pearlman also uses Tamuras in some of his Pearlman mics and they also manufactured the transformers used in Yamaha PM-1000 mixers.

$1 = 107.85 ¥

WOW thats still an expensive 6072 (5000 Y) I would think the tubes from Japan might be better than from China. I really don't know for sure.
The xfrmr that Scott used from this company was only $12.00

I have had decent results uploading to you tube with mpeg4. All youtube videos once uploaded are only mono,. :( There is another way to get video on the web at a better quality. I'm one of the web developers for megadeath, and over there we have been using a flash based video player and just converted the raw video files with audio encoded into a flash video file (flv)... But they retain the quality, but then we have to host those video files somewhere. All and all chance if you want to pm me or I could give you a call so we don't have to have all this on group buy thread I can guide you through it all or do it for you.

I was kinda hoping someone might have a better option than youtube. It just seems like the audio thing might be a big deal for show casing the awesomeness of the ACM microphones.:D

They will be stereo if you upload them using the high-quality uploader. The video quality will be better too, but I'm not sure what the actual bitrates are.

Vimeo.com will let you upload stereo files with resolutions of up to 1280x720. Here's their HD FAQ - vimeo.com/help/hd .

Allan, What I wanna know is.... why didn't Studio Projects go through with that product? I think it would have been a big seller, judging solely from that mockup. Weren't people waiting for either the 8 channel version of the budget mic pre, or a more high-end pre from Studio Projects?

And by the way, I own a Joemeek Twin-Q (new version), which I assume at this point was made by 797. If that's the case, I am confident in the TnC pres being of good quality. I am impressed by the workmanship and sound on the TwinQ, and am more than happy with that purchase.

Of interest, I just did a corporate audio gig at a conference for security and encryption professionals with a lot of government agencies present. A large portion of the conference was talking about the massive amount of industrial espionage and intellectual property theft in manufacturing that goes on in China, and how the Chinese government doesn't case because it only makes the U.S. more dependent on China economically. For a second, I kinda felt bad about possibly supporting that, if in fact this design was ripped off from CL. Then I though, "Fuck it." The price I paid for my one preamp will probably pay some worker's salary for a month, so I look at it as charity. :D

Sorry, but we were at NAMM and I am actually now in the airport on the way to our office in the UK, so I have been out of touch...797 Audio "does not" build Joemeek, which is one of the reasons we passed on our project. The quality we get from the factory that build Meek is quite good. The prototype for the ENVY just did not look good inside, and did not capture the sound we wanted it to have. To do that, it would end up requiring quality transformers and a bunch of different higher end components. Besides, we have done the low budget thing for some time now. Its time to step up, so we redesigned our project which will be all Class A discrete mic amp with all Cinemag transformers, and much higher end components. Yes, it will cost more, but then again, you do get what you pay for.

As for China, well they do what we want them do which is copy designs and sell for less. The consumer is always pushing the market price down, but when you do that, you have to know you are not getting the real goods. China makes lots of unstable components and clones that are not of good quality, but as buyers we seem to always buy good deals and hope in the end they work out....
