Group Buy Interest?

What the......

WOW!!! I'm confused. I though I had it all sussed out and now after reading for the last 10 minutes and 2 pages......:confused::confused::confused:

Can someone answer some questions for me?? Thanks in advance!!! Much appreciated. :D

Do you know how we pay again?? Can I pay via personal courier - cash of course. In hundreds? Do you have change for hundreds??

Also, how long do we have before the money's due? I don't want to read back thru this thread to find out. Too many pages!!!! :mad: And I SURE don't want to miss out!!!

Then, next week after my order arrives, can I get my order split into 3 equal parcels and shipped DSL to my estate in Phuket, USPS to my studio in Brussels (don't want to pay any customs fees, please mark it as recycled CD's), and FEDX to my Chalet in Telluride??

Oh, and I want each of my pre's to be a different color, because I like them to feel special and have a unique personality. I prefer pink, blue, orange, white (only with red letters of course), kawasaki green (YO!!!! Go team green!!!!) and beige. I'm willing to substitute something else for the blue, but the other colors absolutely need to be as is specified to match my decor.

Then, how much is the TnC tech support for coming out and installing them and hooking them up??? Unless I misunderstood, that's part of the low package price we're going to pay right??? I'm willing to provide food for them, but I sure hope I don't have to pay their per diem.....

Also, do the mics come with mic stands? I sure hope so. I'm already using my mic stand for a floral arrangement.

OK. Now I'm starting to relax and feel better about this group buy. I'm so excited. I may wet myself if they don't show up soon!!!!!!

Hey man,

I've never asked for anything except a schematic. Just sent my money off, hoping for the best. It's just that if the whole, 'my tech sketched the schematics based on his Neve console' thing is legit, then tracking down a schematic and posting it should theoretically be pretty easy.

There are some crazy ass people involved in this group buy. I agree about laying off with the mundane bullshit, but the circuit is not the mundane part.

Even though it would still be a good deal if it's just like the CL thing, it would be nice to know more about this tech.

koj, go back like ten pages or so and just read through... theres been a whole lot of shenanigans via some controversial posts from alan hyatt regarding what he was told by john ma of 797.

the mod poll

Since I started picking out mics for this GB back in February or so, I've planned on getting most of them modded -- new transformers in the ribbons, new tubes and capsules in the 1200s, etc.

Just curious if everyone else is thinking the same thing.

(Sure, I'll try them stock first, but I know myself well enough to know that I'll be shipping them out to be improved before very long.)

this is starting to feel like the fuckin soaps that I try so desperately to avoid.....

we have all read the posts....we all know the possibilities....there is nothing we can do about it now.....

just sit back and wait on your pre's to get here.....I personally hope that we have not fucked up any chance of another group buy....but I cant help but believe that if this continues, it will probably be the last one...

this is what i've had in mind. i'm getting a pair of 1200's and 6802's. i'm thinking i'll decide which pair i like more stock, then sell the other to help pay for possible upgrades to the pair i keep.

'course maybe it'd make more sense to decide which to keep after upgrades, but since when was i ever concerned about logic?:D

I'd say most of my ribbons are destined to have new transformers put in them. Probably not all at once.

I've got a pair of 1200's that I want to go the full mod route, but I will definately listen to them first, because if they are focused more like what I think they are, they've gotten some steller reviews as is. time will tell. Are they here yet?? :D

I always figured I'd be doing some kind of modifications to every piece (of course, I'll be copying whatever the smarter people are doing).

I think enough people got sucked up into Hyatt the douchebag's whiney-ass girly drama to have sunk any chance that the Group Buy will happen again, at least not in it's current form.

If Chance were going to do this again, I suspect it will be by invitation only. At least, that's what I'd do in his place. There's no way I'd willingly subject myself again to the bullshit he's had to endure over the past week. He goes out of his way to make this stuff available to us at cost, and when some asshole, who clearly has an interest in sabotaging this thing, makes unsubstantiated allegations (and relies on lies to support those allegations), a whole bunch of people start questioning his integrity and demanding proof that Hyatt's bullshit isn't true. That's just a big "fuck you" to Chance, no matter how diplomatically anyone tried to word it.

If I were Chance, and I wanted to run another GB, here's how I'd do it:
#1-As I said before, it would invitation only. I'd create a list of names/email addresses from this GB and then eliminate from that list everyone who might cause me an issue and that would include everyone who asked for any proof that Hyatt was lying.
#2-I'd take Randy up on his offer to set up an private message board just for the GB and insist that the GB not be discussed on public message boards.
#3-If uninvited people want to join in the GB, they'd have to piggy back on the order of an invited person and would not be allowed to post on the private BB. That way, the uninvited people (all potential problems) would be the concern of the person who brought them in. Those same uninvited participants, could then become invited participants in a following GB based upon the recommendation of the person they piggybacked with. And if that new person became a problem later, I'd throw him and the person who invited him right out on their e-asses.

That's how I'd do it. I'd be a real hump about it. :mad:

However, going back to the original subject, I'd bet this is the last GB we'll see. Hyatt accomplished his goal because there were a few people who weren't smart enough to see through his douchebaggery. :(

Actually, come July, I'm locking myself in my studio for a month to work on my new cd. I'm only going to take breaks for food, bathroom, sleep, and a little kayaking. Other than that, it's just me and my guitars. :)
