I just started getting into home recording with some equipment I have never even taken out of the box, because of a back operation a few years back. I needed a new bass guitra, as I had an old Washburn, but the neck is toasted.

Anyway I bought a new bass from GC. Its a Gretsch Electromatic. This thing is totally awesome. Its somewhat Les Paul shaped, with a guitar size neck.
I am a drummer, but I play multiple instruments, so I figured what the hell, I will buy a new bass. Got it for 219.00 (had a belt buckle scratch.

Anyway, if you get a chance, check one out. The small neck is perfect for those of us who are challenged as far as limb length! you can play the hell out of this thing.

too cool, had to spread the word. My drums are Gretsch as well. The logo gets me everytime!

Clevodrummer,

I just bought the same base not long ago. I'm a guitar player and just wanted something manageable to record a bass line with. The Gretsch may not be a bass that a real bass player would endorse but it certainly meets my needs. Any idea what case this would fit into? I've tried my Les Paul case and it doesn't quite fit in it. Maybe a gig bag would be best. Anyway, congrats on your new bass, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

A bass gig bag will probably fit your bass great, I picked up one for a couple of my oddball shaped guitars, an Explorer type and a Firebird. Both guitars have an extended fin that ruled out regular cases, the bass gig bags perfect for both. ;)

oh man, i love my gretsch,

but my volume pot broke so i had to replace, no biggy, 5 dollars and 5 minutes of soldering, i still love it to death and play it everydyay.

mine fits in a normal guitar gig bag perfect.

I've got a Gibson Les Paul bass case that might fit it.

PM me with some measurements if you're interested.

This is the same make/model bass that was in the case. Your Gretsch will fit it.
