Gretsch Catalina Test

Some of you guys were wanting to hear a test of these drums, so I put together a small clip. Keep in mind I am a weekend drummer, and really cant play drums without a band, or at least a bass player. This clip is strictly for the drum tone. Also, I really dont know alot about drum tuning, so tips are welcomed.
Anyway, Ive got an SM57 on the snare, and both toms, a beta 52 on the kick, and an AT2020 about 5 foot up and 4 feet back from the kick drum. This was recorded to Cubase through a firepod. There is NO production on this clip. The toms are panned a little and thats it. Just wanted a raw drum sound so you could get a feel for the kit.

Thanks for posting that. I think if the snare gets tuned better and eliminate some of the snare noise it will sound pretty nice, but then again I don't really know much about drums.

I put some dampening rings on the toms and snare, wow what a difference. The drums record alot better
 
learn to tune. None of the drums are remotley close to being in tune!
