Okay, for anyone interested, here's a new one for yall to mix.

My take on David Bowie's "Suffragette City"......rocked up a little bit. :drunk:

Download the tracks here:

or
http://www.filedropper.com/mixcontest2

26 tracks total.

Standard acoustic drums, tambourine, bass, guitar, and vocal tracks, and some MIDI sax and piano tracks. The sax and piano tracks are my first and last foray into MIDI, so if you can do better and want to, by all means, have at it. I certainly don't mind.

I'm not gonna listen to or judge anything until this thing loses some steam. I wanna hear them all at once and back-to-back. Post your mix in this thread or PM it to me. Please use LightningMP3 or another file host that will alow me to download the track. No streaming please. Also, I think it will be in your best interest to post a high-quality MP3. No 128kbps or less stuff. Good luck and have fun with it. :D

Sweet! I have monitors this time :D

By the way, your sibilance is a bitch to fix :p

Just downloaded the tracks.

Sounds good

Whats the bpm/tempo

Need the bpm in regards to mixing delays ect.

Thanks.

look forward to hearing these...one of Bowies better songs :)

Your crappy MIDI saxes actually sound pretty good in the mix.

Downloading... hope to make it tomorrow... what's the dead line?

Regards

Here is my first attempt.

I like the overall mix except the first lead guitar track...those few single riffs need work...to much verb on them.

Also the mix may have to much bass however I like bass.

I did this mix through headpnoes so lord only know how it sounds on monitors.

I will be doing a few tweaks and doing a monitor mix check as well so I will be posting another mix at some point in time.

Im going for an old analog type of sound in my mix and Im trying to get away from the cold digital sound.

As a long-time Bowie fan, I can say that this is a beautiful cover and performance-wise, does it justice in every way, Greg!

D Vincent - the mix seems to lack the punch and clarity that Greg's mixes usually have. Not a bad try though, also considering that Greg's material is top to work with. :)
