It would be better if they used mics more like we are likely to have in our studios...but they are selling these ribbons I guess....and I dont see $3000 worth of result over what Im getting with a SM57 and a KSM32.

despite the type of mics the principles are the same.

Of course, this video clip assumes that the guitarist knows how to set his sound in the first place so that it will record and mix well......

It's pretty much the same rule we're all used to......placement........since nothing was said about mic choice. We have no idea how loud the guitar is in the speakers, what his signal chain is, type of speakers, amp used, pickups, what levels are attained at the board, etc.
