Hi there,

I just switched back to Guitar Rig 2 from 3 because I like the patches for metal guitar way better (System of a Crown and the Deftones patch particularly).

The problem I'm having is with panning. I do the standard two tracks panned hard left/right, but can only pan if I open up GR on each track, which kills the CPU. So I've tried creating a third track for GR and bussing tracks 1 & 2 to, which works but then everything is center. I've tried sending track 3 to 1 & 2 so I can control the pan on the dirty signal, but that does nothing (probably cuz there is no signal going through 3).

What am I doing wrong?

THanks!

can you upload the *.rpp you are working on? Minus the media files, just the project file should be fine...I'll have a look

Hi there, hope this works. Couldn't post as a .RPP, so had to make a zip.

Also, with the way I'm doing it now, you can hear the dry tracks unless I change to pre-fx and turn the fader all the way down... but still have the panning issue. Thanks!

Ok, from your routing, it appears you are putting GR2 on track 1

And feeding it from track 2 and 3, both in a preFX send.

Pre FX is also pre pan, but regardless, Im pretty sure gr2 is a mono in stereo out plugin, if you want to use two different tracks, youll probably need to put GR2 on each track

If you are worried about cpu, get a sound you like, then right click the item and chose 'apply fx as new take' then offline the effect

if two instances of GR kill your cpu, you've got bigger problems.

make sure it's not running in "hi-res" mode..
