I went ahead and got myself a new tube mic the cad trion 8000 I have to say the figure 8 pattern is a godsend with a home studio setup the rejection of mild room noise just rocks it stepped my game up big time

Man...all the things you can do with that figure-of-eight pattern. I just recorded two guys playing acoustic guitars with two ribbon mics and two LDC's in figure-of-eight...almost no bleed at all from one mic to the others. Love it.
