Maybe just a little dryer than the rest of the mix, but pretty good. Quite a lot of sssss sounds in there, though.

Next time, please put critique submissions in the mp3 clinic section. You'll get many more responses there.

I realize this should be in the MP3 clinic but seeing hows its already here......I'm presently mixing a Gospel thing with a lot of backups. To me ,your sample sounded a bit mushy with the vocals IMO. Here is a link to one I'm doing, seeing what you think, Jim

Hey Jim, that oh boy and his group came with it . As for the mix I think the back grounds could come up a little. A song like this needs the bass pumping good, the bass don't quite get my foot tapping. I would like my uncle to get his hands on this buger. He owns a big-boy studio (professional) and a song like this is his speciality. He sang with a professional gospel group for years and has recorded grammy winning artists! Overall Jim this thing sounds great but more than anything the bass is lacking!

Yep that sibilance is a killer. More than just too sibilant. There's distortion as well. Either that or this vocalist spits.

Dont blame the mic. It should be fine. It's probably a tracking fault.

The vocalist may be very sibilant, in which case watch your tracking levels. For some singers, the sibilants can be equal to or louder than the rest of the vocal. And because of their fast rise time, a slower meter may not show their true intensity.
I'm surprised that degree of sibilance got through to the final mix without being noticed. It's the most obvious error in the track IMO.

Really? No bass? That's odd as with my studio setup I have plenty of bass. Even in my car. The bass guitar I ran direct to one track and the other through a DBX 120 boom box sub harmonic. Blended the two. To my ears your track has too much backup vocals. Im mean no offence.I like backups heard but not in competition for the lead, just a suportive roll. But hey, just my thoughts!
