seems even though this thread got off its original course, turned to useless posting, and I am the only one to post a clip.

That's why these forums are so lame so much of the time :(

and I was lookin' forward to "cuttin' heads"!! :p

I'll post sample, hopefully, this weekend. I'm honestly stuck here at work 12 hours a day, and still have a 8 song project that's been fully paid for that I HAVE to get out. So I'm spending tonight and tomorrow finishing that up and I'll have something to post Sunday at the lastest. Why doesn't someone go ahead a get up a "Post your guitar clips here" thread. Might as well start getting as much accumulated as possible.

Figure's you'd call me out while I'm typing my defense. Not to worry my friend clips will be posted, oh yes. If only every battle were fought with a guitar. :D

So, the genius Outlaws left me anonymous negative feedback:

ummmm.......you wanna explain how you figure it to be me?

But by the way, I just left you some negative rep you fucking jackass.

I remember a couple of times that a mic stand actually kept people at a distance better than my guitar!! That weight on the bottom gets swingin' real fast if you have the room!!

In other words..."DON"T touch my pedals, you drunk slob!!" :D :D

No, and the rep you left last night was from your account. The rep you left with the account you just started is confirmation that you are the biggest shitstain on this board.

mmmhmmmm

Reps don't say what account they get left form. Just ask Light. I am sure if he could find who left all his anomous reps then he would, but you can't find who left a neg rep unless they leave their name on it.

So do you have any concrete proof?

Yes I do, you dumb fuck.

First of all, the rep that you signed with your dummy account (which is really the only account you could have) is a gray chicklet. This means you don't have enough rep to leave rep. "Outlaws" currently has 24 rep points, so negative rep would appear as a red chicklet.

Secondly, it is not always possible to know who left an unsigned rep, but it can be done. Since you are a dumb c u n t, I was, in fact, able to prove 100% to myself that it was you, and your spoof account proved it to the board.

If you are as good at recording as you are at Internetting, it's no wonder you didn't want to host a clip battle.

Oh, I'm working on outing your fake account, so if it takes a a few minutes to shoot down your next faggot-ass post, that's why.

Well.......

Lets start off with, yes, I did have to use a dummy account to leave you a neg rep. When I left you another rep before who knows...I leave lots of rep. But let me ask you this.....

Since that whole grey chicklet thing didn't happen until 20 minutes ago, what makes you think I left that one yesterday? You were obviously convinced it was me...and with ZERO reason.

why don't both of you 6th graders just shut up, or post a clip....or better yet, just leave the thread and take it to the cave....

or...even better, suggest a good amp for the original poster? If you have already done that, then you both are excused from the table and allowed to leave.

Look for a used Mesa Studio 22, or a Studio preamp. Should be able to stay in the $400 to $600 range

thanks for all the helpful replies. I really would like to see a tube vs amp modeller though.

so you were able to get a good metal tone from the vox tonelab? What kind of metal tone did you get? What band would most accurately describe the tone you got? Also, I did state what type of tone I wanted someone in this thread. I want a black metal tone(think emperor, summoning, ulver, dimmu borgir, burzum, cradle of filth) and a doom metal tone(nortt, thergothon, skepticism). I really wanted to know if there were any small tube amps that are cheap that would be good for that tone. I remember people mentioning some that were really good in another thread.

My guess is, you have an account you keep around for leaving extra rep. I'm not 100% on that though.

With a list of suspects, one can verify the source of rep with complete certainty, and I did, in your case.

Point taken.

ericlingus:

I have heard the original Vamp do some pretty good metal, but I think it was being used only for it's cab sim. Maybe try a JMP-1 or ADA MP-1, into the sim of the VAmp. Kind of an expensive experiment, I know.

Anybody else: PM me if you care whether Outlaws in fact steath repped me (and I know I wouldn't!), and I'll demonstrate how I know he did.

man, I got to rock the piss out of my valveking 212 last night, and must say it was fuckin dyn-o-mite. I always hated peavey because I only ever experienced their transtube shite. But now that I have this I have a new found respect for peavey, and for only 600 canadian for a pretty versatile tube amp, you can't go wrong!!!! Bye the way, you guys are funny, with all the net fighting and so forth, who the fuck really cares what and who's better, opinions will always be different. Let's all just drink beer and play hockey eh!!!!! Fuckin HOSERS!!!! Just kidding, i don't even play hockey. I do ride a penguin to work and live in a igloo with bear skin lining though!!!

OK so I have used Tubes and S.S over the years for Metal I will just add what I think makes a difference
Good Cabinets
Good Guitars
Good Cables

This was recorded with:
Fender Strat Plus
Ibanez TB-100 Head
Marshall 1960A 4x12 cab 1982
Sure SM57
Digitech Metal Master

There are lots of was to get a good tone, it takes lots of things not just a tube amp

I fuckin agree, is that the tone blaster you recorded that with, that's cool cause I heard so much shit about those amps and I figured it was all just because of the fuckin elitism people display all the time and I think I figured right, judging by the way your tunes sound. Really good by the way.

Its just that a tube amp sounds different than that. I can pretty much tell thats solid state amp and a pedal. Not that its a bad thing just different. I just really really like the way a tube amp sounds versus everything else I've heard.

Now that is metal. IMHO

(about it sounding like a SS with a pedal......ya, the chords mainly. But for the solos, there is no denying that they would pass without question as 'good' and not 'questionable amp practices'. ;) But there is something about SS chugs. I like 'em.)

Yes I think its just different, not any beter or worse. I have 1,000.00 tube amps that just sound different not any better to me that is

If I had recorded with more then 1 mic it might have even sounded better
I mean for 299.00 the Ibanez held its own thats all I can say.
Yes that is an Ibanez TB 100 head
Sounds even better now with a BOSS GE7 and BOSS MT2

Yup I just think it takes more then a Tube head

BTW: All guitars were a 94 Fender Strat Plus w/Lace Sensors

Seriously, I was looking at them, but I read some bad things at cacophony central about them overheating or having other problems.

So how do you like it, and how long have you had it?
I think I'm leaning toward the 60 watt version, though I may still consider the 40 watt (even though that "special" is no longer valid),

I haven't had any troubles with it so far. I got mine on Christmas Eve day. I couldn't pass it up for $400 off street price. The 40 watt EFX actually sounds quite good. It's the first amp I've ever owned that I didn't need to boost it a little with a TS-10 Tube Screamer. There is a ton of gain. The built in effects are actually pretty nice as well. You can only use delay and one other effect at a time, and although I have a TC Electronic G-Major, the effects on the amp are quite good for just playing around. I figure for $499, it was one hell of a deal.
