Good software based drum machine?

I currently use either my jamstation or else drag and drop drummer lite for my drum tracks...

both are cool, but a bit limiting.

What's my best next option from here short of buying and learning how to play drums!

try checking out www.thepluginlist.com and make a search for free vsti's, I guess you should be able to find something at least usefull there

Hey LP I would check into fruity loops 3.0. It will blow away what you have. you can use the kits that are supplied or you can inport wave files of drum hits. So you can search the internet for drums sounds you like, down load them and inport them into fruity loops. There are some decent sounds included as well.
