didn't know musician's friend had any thing like that.
i don't know of any good articles, but, having had alot of trouble with lyrics, i was intrigued by something aimee mann said she did to help herself:
she cut out words and phrases and sentences from magazines and newspapers and shuffled and picked and plucked and twisted what she had.
if you are familiar with any of her work, then you may have noticed her use of words and ideas is very original.

Interesting article.

Depending on what their purpose is in songwriting, writers could take lessons from Advertising and Marketing courses. In particular, attention getting and manipulation devices.
