Golden Age Pre-73 Preamp

Just discovered that the phantom power is still active when the amp power is turned off.
So be sure to switch the phantom power off before disengaging.

Says no, he does it for you. Looks easy, speasy with the connectors all in place.

...let me just give an important headsup...if you're going to do any mods on the PRE-73, the output transformer ain't it!...the single most influential component in the sound of that pre is the microphone input tranny...this is not my evaluation...this is the evaluation of Joel Cameron of Rascal Audio who builds pro quality Neve inspired gear (he built a Neve 1290 for me)...replace the mic input transformer and you'll get the largest proportion of improvement in respect to the other upgrades (tantalums, output tranny, etc)...this is your bad boy right here:

...look no further...otherwise, talk to Warren at Zenpro about possibly doing a partial upgrade...just giving you the straight talk from a very knowledgeable source...
