Good to know, my spare bedroom/studio-ish space is totally asymmetric, my upstairs has all the bedroom and bathroom doors built on the diagonal to maximize space. Looks cool too, but leaves only 2 walls parallel. The closet doors are paneled, so that breaks up the surface.
Now here in Utah they use a wall texturing treatment frequently where they cover the wall and ceiling in drywall mud and drag it. Mud is porous and eats bass, so the whole wall's a bass trap, but it echoes, produces a high pitched ring-like echo. I may have found a real argument in favor of acoustic foam.
