I bought a used mint condition SG Bass a couple years ago. It still had all the warranty cards and case candy. I like its heritage and its looks, but it doesnt punch like my Jazz Bass. It still has the original strings on it, it might help if I change to a larger gauge. A Bass player I play with sometimes had a 1967 EB-0 and I always liked that one. But if I compare it to the Jazz I lose interest in it. Does anyone have any experience with this Bass?

Played a few SGs, never would buy one; but the old EB-O was sweet. 69ish, maybe?

Zero out the tone controls. Max out the volume controls on the bass, and max out your amp's tone controls (You don't have to, but if you play live give it a shot, makes the bass much more apparent), you can get an insane punch from those SG basses if you know how to do it.
