Hey all, sorry for the longwinded message title.
This might be a really simple fix that I'm overlooking, but I've searched Sonar and this forum to no avail. My buddy's band had been recording some songs with a Korean engineer at his studio here in Seoul. I recently took over the project after they decided that things weren't really working out with the Korean engineer. We went to his studio and had him export OMF files from his Mac version of Pro Tools over to my laptop under the premise that they wanted to record guitars and vocals on their own, which was partly true.
Opening the OMF files in Sonar 4 Producer's Edition has failed numerous times. The tracks don't sync up, they're in seemingly random order (kick, tom, acoustic guitar, snare, bass, hat. . .), and for some reason Sonar automatically downsamples and dithers all the files in the OMF from 24/48 to 16/44. My solution has been to import each .wav track by hand into a 24 track audio project (at 24/48) in Sonar. This works fine, although it is annoying to have to hand-sync every track.
The bigger problem right now is this: I go to the import dialogue, navigate to the folder in which the audio sits, choose a file to import, and then have to repeat the process every time, because the Import dialogue box never remembers the last folder I imported from. This results in a ton of clicks and a huge waste of time.
Any advice?
