I'm new to this forum, and I've been looking extensively throughout it to find an answer to my problem with no success.
I'm running Cubase le6 with a USB audiobox 44vsl. I'm not getting any sound from my workstation. It recognizes there is audio in the channel, but no sound. PLEASE HELP. Thanks in advance for any help.

Also, I'll be back on in a couple hours in case anybody replies :)

Make sure your 'Monitor' icon is on, to hear channel input. Off to hear playback. If that doesn't do it, then there is an issue with your output bus routing or something is muted or a fader down.

The monitor icon is on. Nothing is muted that i can tell. I'm not getting recorded instrument or midi. All my channel levels are up. my outputs are routed correctly. I've checked my sound card and everything seems to be running smoothly. I've checked the presonus website to make sure there are no driver updates. ugh...

Ok, so you say 'it recognizes there is audio in the channel', does this mean you see the meter on the track you are recording to, moving?

i just received this message. "VST system link has been deactivated because of too many receive errors. ??

Import an audio file into Cubase, and see if it plays. You can just create a stereo track, then drag/drop any audio file in there.

That doesn't sound good, but give a direction to your issue. Sounds like a communication error with USB. Try another cable or another port. Are you running any other USB 2.0 device, other than mouse or keyboard?

no, just a mouse

Try using another port. That warning tells me that there is a connection issue. It could be just a bad USB cable, or the port is not getting priority or something. Worst case scenario, a failing interface. Check everything else first.

Take a snapshot of your VST Connections output bus screen, as well as the project screen (with Inspector window showing) of the channel you are trying to record to. And open the mixer and just check that the Master out fader is up and not muted (far right of mixer).

All looks good there. So, not to be condescending, but are your monitors connected to Line Out 1/2 and powered up? Just trying to hit all possibilities.

Do you have the latest driver for your Audiobox installed? What is your OS? Interface drivers can have issues if they are not selected as default sound device in Windows. Also, there is a check-box in Devices>Device Setup>ASIO or whatever it is called (where you select your ASIO driver) to 'Release Driver when in background' Check that.

im actually not using any monitors, I'm using headphones. I'm using windows 7 on a Sony vaio. The driver is up to date.

Control Panel>Sound>make the Audiobox your default driver for all audio.

Is 'Mixer' knob on the face of the Audiobox turned fully clockwise?

im thinking its something in the computer itself because now i can't hear youtube videos -_-
